New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara is a style icon, seen at New York Fashion Week and mimicked on Sunday’s at the Superdome with fans wearing faux gold grills, dreadlock wigs and bull nose septum piercings. When he tweeted about how much he loved Fruit of The Loom white tees, Fruit of course replied, but it felt like an opportunity to do something more, and we collaborated with him to create a limited-edition signature white tee exclusively for the running back’s fans on Instagram.
Kamara announced the #AK1K collaboration in a video that received 1.39 million views and 3,675 comments. To hype the shirt Kamara posted carousels showcasing a variety of looks incorporating the #AKxFRUIT tee accented with items from his own closet.
When he hit 1K all-purpose yards that season, Kamara announced a few lucky fans who commented #AK1K on his 9 white out posts would receive a limited-edition shirt. In three days, there were 63,000 comments. 63,000 people clamoring for a plain white Fruit of the Loom t-shirt. Touted on Muse as one of the simplest fashion campaigns yet and getting love from US Weekly.

Music has a wonderful ability to make us happier, put a bounce in our step, especially when we sing it aloud or hear it live – it sparks joy and warms our souls. Whether you sing alone or together with friends, family, even complete strangers, #CITYSINGALONG was meant to encourage impromptu song to be shared with one and all.
While music venues were closed during the pandemic, I partnered with Redline Contemporary Art Center through their Checking In initiative to place posters outside music venues throughout Denver and Boulder which featured a QR code. When the code was scanned you were directed to citysingalong.com and presented with a karaoke style video featuring the Bill Withers classic Lean On Me and showcasing a photo of the word Call from my Collecting Words series.
As we were all without live music at the time, the intent was to call attention to the venues and artist who were struggling to get by and could use our support until we were able to come together for live music again. To provide this support, the site included a link to donate to musicians and venues through the Colorado Music Relief Fund with the hope that we could do our part to help to keep live music alive and well.
63% of couples had to postpone their weddings this year because of COVID-19, and while pizza can’t fix their bad luck, it can certainly make things better. That’s why Domino’s set out to invent the first ever wedding registry for postponed weddings: dominosraincheckregistry.com.
Designed specifically for couples who prefer delicious pizza to designer spatulas. And apparently, it was the wedding registry people were craving. It ended up getting 300 million impressions in the first day and generating an estimated 4.4 million in earned media. Even getting this nice article in People.
Additionally to keep spirits lifted, we chose a few of the registered couples and bought out their entire registries. But not just their Domino’s registries. All of their registries… crystal gravy boats included.

Celebrating the release of Occupied, prints were showcased from the book in a 2 week pop up exhibit at Jack Ludlam’s 1615 Gallery. Kicking off on April 1st, some fun was had with the holiday combined with the function of the urinals, calling the event No Fooling Only Flushing.
Prints were showcased in 3 sizes:
32x44” in an edition of 5
20x28” in an edition of 15
12x16” in an edition of 30
Each Monday Night during the 2014 NFL season the Superstition Machine took superstitions and made them real. As viewers watched LIVE on espn.com/nfl they were able to control who would receive the luck by clicking and voting for their favorite team. Each week the actors would change their team allegiance and put the superstitions to the test. Ranging from, lucky charms, to fountains, clothes, and even popcorn. It was only weird if it didn’t work.

Collecting Words is an ongoing project of mine. I capture images of words; single words, phrases, words in graffiti, signage, all kinds of words found across the United States and the world. In 2015 I worked with New Heroes & Pioneers and used some of the 700+ words I have collected to create a book of (very) short (visual) stories. Using the words in the photos to create short narratives, in a refrigerator magnet poetry style. 'Collecting Words' in book form can be purchased here: bookshop.org
To peruse more of my collection you can visit: collectingwords.com
I wrote some things about the experience on Medium: Stories You See: How I Published a Book From an Instagram #tag
The book and project also got some love from Cool Hunting and Lenscratch.
Goodnight Denver is a series of bedtime stories created from photos of words found scrawled across pavement, handwritten on walls, and displayed on signage from Denver and across the country. The words in the images are thoughtfully linked together to create a series of short stories to be shared with the city of Denver as the sun sets and bedtime looms. As each page turns, a quiet pause allows the viewer to absorb the image, evoking the childhood nostalgia of being read to before bed.
One of 8 artists chosen for Side Stories RiNo 2019, the stories were projected nightly on the wall of the “rust house” March 1st-10th in Denver’s RiNo neighborhood.

The Fouhy Adventures began in 2010, when I found myself alone in the grand state of Colorado and away from my family on the East Coast. Couple this loneliness with the desire to learn some basic HTML/CSS and my first adventure was born. The result was an epic trip around the southwest corner of Colorado and a great feast with new friends.

As a single man I decided to continue the adventure and try my luck with Valentine's Day, and attempt to find love. It has yet to lead to my one true love, but Valentine's 2011 was a wonderful dinner and a Valentine to remember. This adventure even garnered some attention form The Denver Egotist.
drinkwithfouhy.com
Further continuing the adventures, I decided to create a site that would allow me to meet new and interesting people and not limit things to a single event. Drinking can occur anywhere, on any day, at any time. Thanks to the extra attention from The LA Egotist, The Boston Egotist, The Denver Egotist, and digiday, I have made many great memories with new friends, and hope to continue to make more.
drivewithfouhy.com
This adventure took things in a slightly different direction and I invited all to come along for a drive. Broadcasting a Google Hangout live to YouTube I was able to livestream the view out my windshield as I made the journey home for Christmas from Pittsburgh to Boston. I created a collaborative Spotify playlist which I listened to during the drive and encouraged those tuning in to add some jams and listen along. I also created #drivewithfouhy to allow people to provide tips and communicate with me via twitter. As cell service improves, I hope to invite all along for a drive again one day soon, perhaps a beautiful drive through the Colorado Rockies…
pickfouhyupattheairport.com
Since there isn’t much worse than arriving home from a trip and having to take public transit home from the airport this chapter of the adventures attempted to avoid the inconvenience of putting friends and family on the spot. I decided to allow those who may be interested to decide on there own whether they would like to pick me up by providing a small incentive for doing so. So far the results have worked out swimmingly for everyone involved.
World’s Oldest Ring Bearer
Thanks to good friends Vinny and Danielle, and the acknowledgement of recordsetter.com, for 6 years and 27 days I held the record for World’s Oldest Ring Bearer at 29.51 years old. It was an accomplishment I was most proud of, even getting a little shout out from Huff Post. With the new record now set at 91 years, I clearly have some living to do.

This piece was created for the ‘Delirium, Three Visions’ exhibition at RedLine Contemporary Art Center in Denver as part of Month of Photography 2019. I selected 32 of my photos that included words I felt exemplified or evoked delirium. I then photographed 8 people and their reactions to the photo of these words. Isolating their eyes and mouth they were displayed on a stack of old televisions as looping video accompanied by the words they reacted to. The video would speed and slow creating a sense of delirium for the viewer sucking them in visually the way watching TV tends to suck us all in at times.

During Alex Bogusky’s return he wanted travel as little as possible, but people still wanted him to attend events, thus RoBogusky was born. A mannequin with a modified TV head that allowed Alex to be present at events like Advertising Week in a “human like” form. RoBogusky gave Alex the ability to communicate telepresently in real time from the comfort of the office in Boulder. An instagram was created to document @RoBogusky’s construction and travels. It turned out RoBogusky was short lived as Alex realized real life interactions still matter.
That being said RoBogusky’s appearance at Advertising Week was indeed a hit garnering coverage from MediaPost, The Drum, and AdAge.

The year was 2012, it was SXSW, and late night arrivals back to the hotel had rekindled a long lost love for Frasier. Until that fateful night the TV was turned on and Frasier was no where to be found. Begging the question... "What time is Frasier on?" In response whattimeisfrasieron.com was purchased and with the help of Ben Roth a website was developed. Unfortunately the API used to pull television listings based on your location has expired, but fret not, Frasier can currently be watched anytime you like on Hulu and Peacock.

To help introduce Domino’s new delivery vehicle a choose your own adventure style game was created. Utilizing the tagging mechanism within Instagram multiple accounts were used to lead fans through a series of puzzles that showcased all the special features of the new car. Once completed, and the code was collected, fans were rewarded a coupon for their next pizza order.

Working with The Oxford Hotel through NineDotArts I created a window display to help with the promotion of wedding season for the Summer of 2018. The vintage televisions tapped into the history and nostalgia of the hotel and displaying a video montage of photographs made up of words that evoked the spirit and emotions of a wedding. Ranging, from words of “love”, to words of commitment, such as “yes”, and words that encompass the entirety of a wedding day, like “memories”. Feeding off of the words and the wedding theme, a montage of found footage featuring scenes of dancing and good times were displayed on the television above the radio. Mirrors expressing words of celebration and commitment gave those passing by the opportunity to see themselves in this moment. As a final touch, a flower arrangement, candelabra, and wine glasses further accented the scene.
Working with Brian Morrissey and Ben Roth, we developed a simple website to allow people to post the things they wouldn't tweet from their own account, completely anonymously via canttweetthis.com. From this initial experiment, it seemed people really enjoyed confessing their love anonymously, as a result yousofuckinghot.com was created and launched on Valentine's Day 2013. Then there was the epic Burger King hack of 2013, we quickly decided to create @pretendBK and allow everyone the ability to tweet as though they were Burger King, building and launching the site in roughly an hour. To conclude the experiment we built a SXSW specific version, called SXbackchannel.com, as a venue for attendees and haters to vent about the happenings of the festival without having to own up to it.

I find something weirdly beautiful about porcelain and bathrooms. As a result, I began photographing urinals and writing a short review of my experience with them on urinalsiveused.com. As you might guess, taking photos in a bathroom with your iPhone can be tricky, hence I tend to focus on those urinals I find truly unique.
I am currently developing this project into my second book, to be titled Occupied, with some small modifications to the content that accompanies the photos. If all goes as planned it should be on shelves by Christmas 2020.

To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Webby Awards and the theme of “The Internet Can't Be Stopped” a classic award show poster was designed driving people to the url theinternetcantbestopped.net and a portal housing the greatness of the internet from the past 20 years. Once loaded the the website presented a chaotic grid of internet greatness that seemingly could not be stopped, a button that can barely be caught when clicked leads visitors down a rabbit hole of a seemingly never ending unstoppable internet.

This slide projector piece was part of the RedLine Contemporary Art Center’s 6th Annual Juried Exhibition ’Was it Worth it?’. I took 80 words I photographed in 2018 from my ongoing Collecting Words project and organized them into a stream of consciousness. The sequence became a human dialogue that represented a year of my life, evoking the range of emotions, feelings, and experiences a human may encounter over the span of 365 days.
The thought was what better way to view and appreciate Instagram photos than on a vintage TV. The result, Instavision was born. Using the Instagram API we created an Instavision feed that displayed new images as they were added in real time on this beautiful old TV, further enhancing the beauty and nostalgia of your photos.

Pineapple on pizza. It is a passionate topic, many love it, and many are vehemently against it. We tapped into the voting dynamic that had become popular on Facebook Live to determine in real time pineapple’s place on pizza once and for all. Social posts were created to help promote the vote and the fans ultimately decided pineapple does indeed belong on pizza.
As Domino’s first Facebook Live experience the vote resulted in the most impressions Domino’s had received on social media to that point:

– 581,113 total views
– 65K+ votes

Bayardstown was a members-only outdoor social club in the the Strip District of Pittsburgh created by Deeplocal that offered a backyard space for those who lacked the space living in the city to gather, eat, and drink. Everything was on a BYO basis, booze, meat, fun etc. There were food trucks, movies, vintage clothing sales, live music, and even backyard olympics. In creating this experience I helped to develop the initial concept, assisted with the social media, and helped with event production.

I created this piece to be a part of ‘FLIP’ the Fall 2017 Exhibition at Boulder Creative Collective. I put together 8 new stories from photos in my Collecting Words project. The theme of these stories was meant to portray a positive tone about being a good person to align wit the shows theme of social change. The stories were projected from an old Bausch & Lomb slide projector onto an assemblage of miscellaneous/discarded construction material found around the premises of the Collective.

napkinofthemonth.com came about as a result of @pearlw live tweeting a #firstdate. The young lady on this date mentioned she had a bit of a napkin collection, and made reference to starting a blog called ‘Napkin of the Month’. As a purveyor of the internet, I immediately checked to see if the url was available, it was, I made the purchase. As I felt remorse for taking advantage of the situation I did nothing with the url for some time. As time went on with no interest, I felt compelled to do something with the url. Hence began the napkin sessions. Once a month, or now when the inspiration strikes, a meeting of friends is coordinated over drinks, a napkin is passed around the group with each member taking turns to add to the masterpiece and create the ‘Napkin of the Month’.
Napkins are also shared on Instagram and twitter.

For ‘Raspberry Pi’, Boulder Creative Collective’s 2016 Spring Exhibition, I created ‘The Living Room’. Utilizing vintage TVs and furniture I created an installation that allowed people to comfortably sit and watch the TVs that were playing the stories from my book ‘Collecting Words’ in a slide show style format. The vintage installation enhanced the nostalgia I was finding the stories evoked and gave people the opportunity to reflect on new and old memories.
"I used Kelvin" a simple statement, that became a url, which quickly turned into a website. The filter long considered the bane of Instagram begged the question, who actually uses ‘Kelvin’? Leading to a Saturday afternoon with Lasse Korsgard and the creation of iusedkelvin.com*, showcasing those not just using ‘Kelvin’ but so proud of that use, they tag the photo #kelvin. For the shame, or the glory… you decide.
*The Kelvin filter having long been retired, iusedkelvin.com is now just a bookmark on possibly the worst moment for photography.
